My Review:
The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a coming-of-age novel that tells the story of Charlie, a quiet and introverted teenage boy who struggles to fit in at high school while dealing with emotional pain from his past.
The book is written as a series of letters from Charlie to an anonymous friend, where he shares his thoughts, fears, and observations about life. Charlie befriends a small group of students—Sam and Patrick—who help him experience friendship, love, music, and the ups and downs of teenage life.
Throughout the story, Charlie navigates first love, social challenges, family issues, and personal trauma. He learns to confront his past, express his feelings, and slowly discover who he is.
My Comment on this Book:
I really connected with The Perks of Being a Wallflower because I am also a person who don’t like to talk much. Like Charlie, I feel more comfortable observing and thinking quietly. The book showed me that it’s okay to be quiet and take time to open up, and that true friendships and understanding can happen even if you speak only when you feel comfortable.
