Review of Harry Potter And The Philosopher Stone

Author: J K Rowling

Publisher: Bloomsbury

My Review

Eleven-year-old Harry Potter lives miserably in a cupboard under the stairs with his awful aunt and uncle. Everything changes when a giant named Hagrid delivers a letter inviting Harry to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry discovers he is a famous wizard in a hidden magical society because he survived an attack as a baby by the evil Lord Voldemort, who murdered his parents. At school, Harry steps into a vibrant world of moving staircases, flying broomsticks, and shifting portraits. He quickly bonds with loyal Ron Weasley and brilliant Hermione Granger. Together, the trio faces everyday school trials and a dark underlying mystery. They learn that the mythical Philosopher's Stone—an object capable of granting eternal life—is hidden deep inside the castle. They soon suspect that Professor Snape wants to steal it for himself. However, the real danger hides closer than they think. A possessed teacher is sharing his body with a weakened, parasitic Voldemort desperate to restore his full power. Harry uses his fierce courage and his mother's ancient protective love to confront the dark force and save the school.

My Comment on this Book

It turns a lonely cupboard fantasy into a timeless lesson that love, loyalty, and ordinary friendship are the real magic. Beyond the spells and castles, it shows kids facing hard truths and choosing kindness when things get dark. That quiet growth is why the story stays with us long after the final page.
